The Circle Line name is well established in the New York Harbor
sightseeing industry. Tourists and New Yorkers alike are familiar
with the three hour tours around Manhattan, as well as the shorter
Harbor Lights Cruises and Liberty Cruises. Some of the
landmarks covered by the Circle Line cruises include Ellis Island,
Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg
Bridge, United Nations Building, Harlem River Bridge, Spuyten
Duyvil, the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Intrepid and Grant’s Tomb. The
green hulled boats with the words “Circle Line” written in large
white letters across the topsides are as much a part of the scenery
of New York Harbor as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Circle Line Harbor Cruises LLC is a subsidiary of Circle Line -
Statue of Liberty Ferry, Inc. It was established in 2003 and provides
harbor cruises aboard the luxury yacht Zephyr and Miss New York,
as well as high-speed rides aboard the Shark. Sometimes
referred to as Circle Line Downtown, Circle Line Harbor Cruises
announced in July 2007 that their boat Zephyr will have a lavish
karaoke room for the August 10, 2007 maiden voyage of the
musical extravaganza. They add that the karaoke cruise will feature
flat screen TV’s and state-of-the-art sound systems.
Circle Line is also a place to look for maritime employment

include captain for the high speed thrill ride (which requires a 100
inland master license from the U.S. Coast Guard), deckhand,
marine electrician, bartender, ticket manager, mascot and others.
The mascot position can involve wearing a shark costume to greet
people. Some of the jobs are full-time and some are part-time.
Where applicable, the positions are marked as seasonal
employment. Work locations include South Street Seaport, the

| Trainee Entry level position for working one’s way up towards qualified deckhand or other position Food Sales - Concession for the larger ferries that sell coffee, soda, food and snacks, these personnel work as cooks and cashiers. Experience in fast food industry, short order cook or other restaurant experience is helpful. Some of the shoreside positions that arise include: Bookkeepers and Accountants Keep track of company revenues and expenses. Maintain records for ticket sales, payroll. Proficiency in current software is helpful. Human Resources, or Personnel Staff Manage employee records, performance, hiring, termination protocol, employee benefits. Ticket Agents - Customer Service sell tickets to passengers and help in other facets of customer service, whether seeing to the safe boarding of a handicapped passenger or diffusing a complaint of a disgruntled ticket holder. These are intensive “people skills” positions. Ideal candidates are people oriented, energetic, outgoing and have the ability to “get things done” and keep passengers happy, within reasonable limits, naturally.
